I can’t believe I am already seeing so much back to school themed advertising!! While it seems a little premature, I do enjoy buying Vivi’s back to school clothes and school supplies.

I am probably in the minority here but I personally love uniform dressing and the ease that comes with it. Vivi is not required to wear a uniform but there is a dress code which limits what she can wear. Without listings all of the rules, it’s pretty much plain on the top, with or without the school logo, and a party on the bottom. Vivi is a budding artist so I tend to stick to inexpensive, durable basics that aren’t too precious that I won’t worry about getting ruined and can easily throw in the wash. I usually stick to certain colors so everything coordinates and can be mixed and matched which makes for easier dressing and getting out the door on time early in the morning!

In general, for girls, I love a shirt with a peter pan collar tucked into a cute skirt or layered under a classic jumper. I think Zara Girls skirts are so cute and I am sure there will be an adorable autumnal selection as we edge closer to fall. J. Crew jumpers are classic and the ones with little zippers add a little edge. I have Vivi’s school logo embroidered on several white, short & long sleeve peter pan polos from Land’s End which are super versatile, good quality and can be worn with anything. I typically try to stick to neutral colors that coordinate with the yellow and royal blue logo although wearing pink is non-negotiable with Viv at the moment. OshKosh has a short sleeve polo dress in a few colors that I adore for only $15, and I always stock up on Carter’s undies and H&M socks and tights.

I buy grosgrain ribbon in bulk at Michael’s for her hair and this year, she’ll sport a LL Bean Junior Original backpack in pink with a V initial (athletic font) and a few of her favorite Stoney Clover LN patches sewn on to make it even more personalized.

Happy back to school shopping! x
